Services

While we do specialize in natural light and outdoor "still-life" photography settings, we can do indoor shoots upon request too. If you have a special place in mind for your photo shoot, or even if you don't, just let us know! There's a wide variety of nearby places with different types of scenery, and we're always open to ideas or giving suggestions.
  • Some advice about choosing a time and place for a shoot:
    • Noontime (or the middle of the day, in general between 11am-3pm) is a terrible time to take pictures because the sun is at the highest point in the sky, which 1.) creates unflattering shadows on the face, 2.) creates a TON of "squinty-eyed" photos, 3.) desaturates all of the vibrant colors in your clothing and the background, and 4.) makes everyone hot and uncomfortable, especially in the summer. While early morning sun and late afternoon sun can also create "squinty" photos if you're facing it directly, the sunlight generally will not be as harsh.
    • Light shade and cloudy/partly cloudy skies are your best friends (and a photographer's best friends) when taking photos, but you certainly don't want it to be too dark or dim either. Shade helps make wrinkles and blemishes in the face harder to detect, and generally your eyes don't have to squint as much against bright light, so it's easier to get those bright eyed, vibrant images of the face that everyone loves so much. If you want to do a photo shoot at a specific location, try to find open places with shade, or find a specific time of day when the sun won't be so harsh on the scene.
Before you book a day for your event, it's best to meet in person for a consultation. During this consultation we will discuss days, times, places, props (if any), what you're looking for in our photography services (for example, if you don't want any black/white photos, or if you don't like images that have a slight tilt or angle to them, etc.), and it will also give you a chance to ask any questions you might have. If you cannot meet for a consultation in person, by phone or email is fine too.

After a photo shoot, each client will receive a CD with all the finalized digital images along with the copyright release so they can reprint any or all of the photos in whatever sizes they choose.
We use only the latest, best, and most reliable equipment and software for shooting and processing your photos. Even our computer monitors are professionally color calibrated to ensure that the colors of your photos are true, pure, and accurate to how they should be.

I usually do not do prints since most clients prefer to post them online for friends and family to see, or they choose to create a digital photo book (Shutterfly does some really nice work of printing a scrapbook with your digital prints). However, prints are available upon request for an additional cost. For a printing quote, please let me know the sizes and quantities of the prints for each desired photo. The minimum cost for ordering prints is $20.

Also, we are available for travel, and we will travel within 50 miles of Provo without charging a travel fee.
